CFM Certification Study Sessions: CFM Exam Review Class of 2012 Click here for Full Details and Registration Form
The Certified Facility Manager designation is becoming recognized globally as a standard of excellence and provides individuals with many benefits. IFMA-NAC may possibly be the only Chapter which continues to provide CFM Study sessions at no cost to their members. Investigation will show that the cost of similar training can be very substantial. Our commitment to the local Facility Management community is instrumental in maintaining one of the highest proportions of CFM's in any Chapter. Almost every participant in past Study Groups who was written the comprehensive CFM Exam has passed.
Through CFM certification, a globally recognized designation, major Educational Events, and monthly programs, the Northern Alberta Chapter strives to improve the value which facility practitioners bring to the local business community. IFMA NAC is committed to providing affordable education, ongoing professional development opportunities for our members.

January 14 to February 25, 2012 Saturday mornings 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Location: ACM Architecture / Construction Managers   10803 – 105 Avenue, Edmonton.

What is the Review Class? This preparation course is to assist you in successfully completing IFMA’s Certified Facility Manager (CFM) Examination.

It is designed to provide those preparing to take the exam with increased confidence.  It is not an in-depth study of FM but an opportunity to self-evaluate your readiness to take the exam and to increase your comfort in the areas that you may not have as much experience.  The review discusses the format, sample questions and information related to the nine (9) competency areas tested in the exam. Each week a competency and exam question review will be lead by local chapter members that have completed their CFM certification and will share their experience and exam questions with candidates to strengthen your knowledge and increase your confidence in each of the competency areas?

Programs:
Every year from September through June we provide monthly lunch or dinner Events with speakers on a variety of facilities topics. We encourage members to share their accomplishments, knowledge, experience and insight with their colleagues by presenting at one of these Events. Traditionally we kick off the year with a facility Tour and try to plan at least one other Tour during the year. The December Event is a social Event, however we often provide a light-hearted or humorous presentation related to FM or the Workplace. In June we hold our Annual General Meeting in a more social environment and honor our members and supporters. We survey member opinions and welcome suggestions for timely topics or projects of interest to Facility Professionals.

Educational Events:
Full or half day seminars with a number of presenters providing different perspectives on a specific area of facilities management.
